Meet the Teacher

Hello!!! I am Desiree Luna and I am the 2nd grade homeroom teacher.  This will be my 9th year at St. Odilia and I am excited to work with your child during the 2023-2024 school year. 

Curriculum

In 2nd grade, your child’s goal is to be able to read 117 words per minute. They will work on understanding and recalling what they have read, recount key details, and put events in order. They will be able to: identify place value up to the thousands place, add and subtract with and without regrouping, tell time, identify and use money, create and interpret graphs, identify and name 2-D/3-D shapes and their attributes, as well as so much more. It is going to be a lot of work, but a lot of fun!
